Star Wars
One of the themes i identified in the movie Star Wars: A New Hope was love. To be more specific, more of a love triangle. Although it is frowned upon today (in most cultures) for siblings to develop "intimate" relationships, Luke and Leia definitely cross the boundaries of flirting (not to mention she kisses him 0n the lips in the next movie) ewww. Anyways though, it is obvious that Han Solo and Luke are both trying to put their best foot forward to get Princess Leia's attention. And although Leia picks on Han and appears to be rude/snobby to him, it is quite apparent that she has a crush on him. We find all of this information out (or most of it) when Han asks Luke "do you think a guy like me and a girl like her?" and Luke, without hesitation (almost immediately) says no.

ReplyDeleteLuke and Leia have no idea they are siblings! You can't fault them.
I'd like to see you explore the idea of the love triangle theme further. Where else and how else does it appear in popular culture?
